Are you excited about Google Chrome OS?

I'm somewhat excited, but it just looks like a google themed linux distro to me.

It sort of reminds me of Good OS which is a modded version of Ubuntu

well it's a browser bundled with a kernal, and that's it

which is all an OS needs so should have a small footprint and spin off a few ungooglised version since it will be open sourced

I thought google was just a web search engine corp? Now there making browsers and OS's. I think google has too much power. As for being excited for their OS, no I am not.

Mountain view see an all google future much like microsoft had from 80's - 00s

microsoft still control about 90% of the Operating system market, so another competitor with the funds to bank roll something that can possibly gain headway into the OS market should be good

and don't forget the software will be opensource so there will be de googlised versions.

I wonder if Google just make a spin-off of someother OS like how Ubuntu is based on Debian somewhat. Mint and Good OS uses a lot of Ubuntu features.

Open source is pretty good since it is free for everyone to use.

I hope Google new OS is compatible with Wine HQ, so I can still play some of my fav. windows games on its OS.
