Vista seems to also crashes a lot when doing basic tasks like copying and moving files, so a lot of the time I don't even get to experience the slow downs.

Windows 7 seems like a better alternative for computers that use Vista. I read somewhere that most programs and hardware that work on Vista would most likely work on 7.

windows 7 is a vast improvement over vista but you need the 64bit version, 32bit is just not good enough

and Grievous Yes software can be over updated, but your right (depending on interpretation) users should update there software more often than they do.
I never really understood Thursdays.
