Do you think it is simpler to recover from a hard drive crash these days compared to the past?

Yes since I can just clone the hard drive with Raid 1 or 5 and recover in seconds or minutes.

If I just make an exact clone of my hard drive when it is healthy with clonning software, it might only take 5-10 or less minutes to swap out the dead drive for a working drive which is pre clonned.

Imaging software is kind of slow since using a USB 2.0 or 1.1 drive to reimage a new drive can take hours.

The system recovery disks or partitions are pretty quick, but redownloading all the updates for Windows, software, and getting rid of the junk programs "Rhapsody, Wild tangent games, Toolbars, etc" can take a long time.
