I see a lot of popular anime wallpaper and e-card websites, but this seems like a somewhat risky type of a website since a lot of the images in these sites are copyrighted by Funimation, Namco, and the Japanese Anime Industry. I sometimes wonder the chances of getting sued for using copyrighted anime, movie or music related images on a website, or youtube since in a way the user of the image of the picture is profiting from it since most anime wallpaer websites are ad-supported, and Youtube partners video are also ad supported.
I guest it depends on the picture if I use a picture of a entertainer who has a strong relationship with the RIAA or MPAA then I am more likely to get sued if the entertainer only cares about profiting.
I never heard of any entertainer suing their fans for copyright infringement for making a wallpaper and sharing it online.
Would it be possible to get sued for making a wallpaper website or using a wallpaper in an online video.
