If something you own breaks down and is fixable, how do you get it fixed?

I usually read forums and blogs and see if it is fixable. If it is not fixed and still ubder warrantty, I just ask the store or send it back to the company to get it fixed. If my TV broke, I just phone the TV repair man.

I read Best Buy overcharges consumers, and steal their porn collection.

I had a friend who took a Laptop to get it fixed from Best Buy. It took them nearly a month to just change a battery inside the laptop.

From reading this post : http://cgysdw1.blogspot.com/2010/03/ex- ... s-all.html , BestBuy sounds like a pretty troubling place to take stuff into get them fixed.

Hiring someone who advertise computer repair and electronics repair from Newspaper Ads or Telephone books with a good reputation according to the Better Business Bureau or people who hired them before might be a better choice.
