Asking for donations online gets little money in most cases, & you'll make more money through ads, selling stuff?

I wouldn't say asking for donations is a waste of time. However, very few people donate money in my experience. I only made 20 dollars from donation to my computer help site, but I made thousands of dollars by paid to click advertising, selling and promoting affiliate products, text links, and paid guest articles where people pay me about 10 dollars to post their article on my blog.

Many people these days just don't have the money to donate, and it is a hassle to login to Paypal to send money to websites.
