The next playstation 3 will be region free, so it means you can play games from europe, or asia without the need of a mod chip. sony does this so ppl wont mod their ps3 to play import games when they can play them without modding their ps3 thus fewer ppl will mod their ps3 thus making their ps3 unable to play pirated games.

i don't quite get sony's logic there, as people will still do pirate games,

no matter what as import games are damned expensive last i checked
