Reports surfaced that Jay Chou’s contract with IT firm expires, firm looking for new ambassador
3月31日,有消息稱中國移動的青春品牌——動感地帶的形象代言人周杰倫與中國移動簽署的代言協議可能即將 到期,而中國移動正准備找尋新的代言人。
On the 31st of March, many reports surfaced in China’s newspapers regarding the current ambassador of an IT company selling IT products targeted at youths in the Dong Gan district Jay Chou, stating that the contract between Jay and the firm have expired – and the firm is currently in search of a new ambassador to promote its products.
周杰倫2003年4月開始代言中國移動動感地帶品牌,其曾經作爲新銳歌星而成爲動感地帶當之無愧的形象代言 人,被中國移動認爲其與動感地帶具有相同的品牌特質。
Jay Chou started promoting products by the company since April of 2003; all the while he was rapidly rising to his superstardom status, making the company a household name in China and its products were well received in China.
此後,周杰倫頻頻在動感地帶的電視廣告和平面廣告中出現,並且在多種市場推廣中互相合作,比如用動感地帶手 機充值費換取周杰倫演唱會門票等等,雙方的合作一直比較融洽。
Since then, Jay has continuously been appearing on television and on advertisements in the Dong Gan District. Both parties worked together to come up with new promotions for its products, such as receiving Jay’s concert tickets through the usage of their mobile phones in the Dong Gan area etc. The cooperation between both parties had been rather harmonious.
中國移動認爲,動感地帶的用戶群主要是15-25歲的目標人群,他們在生活上講求品牌,追逐時尚,對新鮮事物感興趣。而在心理上崇尚個性,追求獨立,思維活躍,希望有一個自己的空間。而在移動通信消費上,他們喜歡以短信、彩信、移動QQ等等夠酷夠炫的方式來交流,喜歡下載最酷最炫的鈴聲圖片和互動的手機遊戲等等,所以,當初選擇形象代言人的時候,主要是考慮代言人的知名度和其在年輕人心目中的地位。而周杰倫正式這樣一個符 合要求的、個人形象很陽光很酷的明星。
The Chinese company’s target consumers in the Dong Gan area are youths between 15 – 25 years of age. This group of consumers are those that go for branded goods, constantly keeping up with the latest trends and are always very interested in new products. And the mentalities of youths are the will to be different, seeking independence and have an active lifestyle, always wanting their freedom. And they like to spend on consumer electronics such as short text messaging services, multimedia messaging and products that are ‘Cool’ and ‘In’, they often compare such products with their friends as a form of interaction. They like to use the most ‘Cool and In’ ringtones for their mobile phones. Such details were therefore the primary consideration for the firm as they were looking for a star with such qualities and have significant influential powers over youths. And Jay is such a star that met up with the qualities perfectly as he is seen by many as a very cool star.
而此次消息稱中國移動可能更換形象代言人,可能是因爲中國移動與周杰倫簽署的協議已經履行了3年,雙方在是 否續簽協議上還沒有達成一致意見。
And reports that recently surfaced stating that the company is looking into the possibilities of finding a new ambassador for their products maybe because the initial contract they signed with Jay Chou was only binding for a period of three years; and both parties were unable to come into agreement the terms of an extension to the contract.
對此,搜狐IT致電中國移動綜合部相關人士,該人士表示尚未聽說此事。該人士同時向市場部相關人士進行咨詢 ,得到的答複亦是沒有此事。
Soho IT company’s, in response, had play down these reports, stating that they have yet to know of such an issue. At the same time, the response from the management of the firm's main outlet had also stated that there is no such issue.
