I agree, hinting at a 2nd console will draw people in. Firmware/operating system updates also draw attention from gamers who care about stuff like firmware.

Making it simpler to use 3rd-party controllers will also draw people in.

Is the ouya controller that bad to need 3rd party support on the controllers?

I heard they release a 2nd version of the controller where problems like stuck buttons are fixed, and they also release firmware updates to make the controller more responsive.

It's good that the Ouya supports third-party controllers instead of locking people into one controller.

thanks to hackers these days, not much point in locking in a controller.
