I wonder if there is some way to watch cable through the internet (or some streaming device like netflix or chromecast) instead of pricey cable?

I think if you don't subscribe to Cable TV sometimes your internet, and phone line cost will become more expensive because you no longer subscribe to the Cable, Internet, and Phone bundle where you save money on Cable, Internet, and phone service as a bundle.

I think, the savings of watching all the shows, sports, and pay per view movies, and sporting events on the internet won't be a lot of savings because of the royalty payments to the copyright holders which an internet TV service has to pay to broadcast the video.
