I agree it is best to invest in a separate sound system. I'm still using a 5.1 Logitech surround sound PC system which I got many years a go, and it still sounds good, and works well for gaming, and watching videos with surround sound.
I think buying a pair of $10-20 external speakers can be better than the sound from most laptop, and all-in-one computers where PC makers install very low quality speakers into their PC, so the company can make more money.
Cheap speakers in laptops and tablets are good enough for playing error sound alerts for computer problems, Windows and antivirus programs. I think companies mainly include internal speakers to use to help tech support workers with troubleshooting and technical support calls where people can describe how many beeps they hear after turning on a broken computer, or let the tech support worker hear the warning beeps alert from the speakers, and Windows to guest what is wrong with the PC by listening to the audio alerts code.

The beeps are helpful, though I think they have their own speaker to ensure the sound gets out.

I think most standard desktop motherboards use their own small speakers on the motherboard for the beeps.
But, some cheaper laptop motherboards may not have an extra speaker on the motherboard to listen to error codes because they can add an extra wired connection from the motherboard to the laptop speakers to use as the error code speaker.
