$10-20 PC speakers from eBay, Amazon, and local electronic stores like Best Buy maybe okay for just playing music and computer sounds.Skeithex wrote:
I use their roar series speaker which is good, but their best cost a bit too much for what I want to spend.

I've bought some cheap ones in the past, they were all kind of weak or flawed in their own way. I wish I could get my current speakers again, but they came with my original emachines desktop and I can't find them again and they were simply the best.

I agree it does seem pretty hard to find good sounding speakers which are not weak, and flawed.Skeithex wrote:I've bought some cheap ones in the past, they were all kind of weak or flawed in their own way. Can you try out PC speakers at local electronics and computer stores before you buy them?
You can try Buying used speakers from a used computer store, pawn shop, thrift store, or person like family member or friend which will let you try out the speakers by connecting them to a laptop's, or smartphone's headphone jack to listen to music.

most stores that I know of frown on opening a box before you buy it.froggyboy604 wrote:I agree it does seem pretty hard to find good sounding speakers which are not weak, and flawed.Skeithex wrote:I've bought some cheap ones in the past, they were all kind of weak or flawed in their own way. This is too bad. Stores probably sell more speakers if people can try them out on a store's table like laptop computers where people can try out a laptop before selling.Skeithex wrote: most stores that I know of frown on opening a box before you buy it.
Pawn shop, thrift store, and flea market sometimes let people try out things like game consoles and musical instruments before they buy them since most of the stuff is already used, and people want to make sure that they work before buying them.

We should put out some speakers for our laptops, we can't with our desktops because they are just plastic display models.

It would be a good idea to let customers hook up a pair of speakers which they might want to buy, and see how the laptop's headphone/audio jack sound when hooked up to a pair of computer speakers instead of just trying out the laptop's internal speaker which don't usually sound very good.Skeithex wrote:We should put out some speakers for our laptops, we can't with our desktops because they are just plastic display models.
I think putting out some speakers for tablets, and smartphones can be a good idea since most people use an external speaker on a phone or tablet if they need louder sound with better bass.
