Is there ever a time you actually need to use the default browser IE?

There are some old websites which require you to use ActiveX plug-ins which are only available for IE.

A lot of people use IE to run Windows Update on Windows XP and older computers, or to download a third-party web browser like Chrome and Firefox.

my parents use it to play a gaming site called pogo, it's a pretty poorly designed site that won't work well in current browsers.

I remember using Pogo. But, I think Firefox/Mozilla was not as good in the past, and a lot of sites were designed for IE.

yeah, that site does not want to work with anything but IE, which is kind of a security risk with all the flash on that site.
