Will you still use intel?
Given Intel's huge massive security issue of late, will you still use their brand in the coming future or switch to AMD?

Re: Will you still use intel?
I will most likely use an AMD chip in the future since I heard the Windows patch for Intel CPU can slow down the CPU by up to 30% and possibly more like 40-65%. I don't want to buy a Intel CPU where there is a bigger chance of getting hacked if the patch does not work or the CPU is still unsecure after getting patched. AMD CPU usually cost less money than similar Intel CPUs, and offer good performance, so saving money, and having good performance is good.

the slow down is for now, the next generation of CPUs will be resolved of any possible slow downs.froggyboy604 wrote:I will most likely use an AMD chip in the future since I heard the Windows patch for Intel CPU can slow down the CPU by up to 30% and possibly more like 40-65%. Re: Will you still use intel?
I would want to test out future Intel CPUs before saying the slow down problems would be resolved, or I would get a better deal buying a similar price AMD CPU which maybe a lot faster.Skeithex wrote:

I read online that many class action lawsuits plan to sue Intel because of the security issues causing slowdown and security issues badly affecting Intel users.
If Intel is ordered to reward a lot of money to the millions of victims who are affected by Intel Security and slow CPU performance Problems, Intel may not have enough money left over to invent faster CPUs which require more money to build.
Class action lawsuits which plan to sue Intel will most likely sue Intel for the maximum amount of money they can lawfully win from Intel. If most of the class action lawsuits against Intel won, Intel may need to spend most or all of its money to pay the millions of victims of Intel CPU Security and Performance problems.
There maybe future lawsuits from web hosting companies, banks, and websites which sue Intel for needing to spend money on faster CPUs to keep their computers running at a usable speed. Some victims may also sue for loss of data from being hacked if the security patches failed to protect them from Intel Security problems, or for not releasing the patches fast enough to protect them from the security problems.

Oh Intel is going to get the pants sued off of them, I really will be surprised if they manage to stay in business once all is said and done.

Re: Will you still use intel?
I feel the US government will bail Intel out of debt, or a huge company like Microsoft or Apple will buy Intel for a huge discount if Intel does not have any money left after paying all their lawsuit rewards to the many millions victims of Intel security problems.
There is also a recent AMT security problem where hackers can gain complete control of Pc which use affected Intel mobile laptop and tablet CPUaccording to https://threatpost.com/intel-amt-loopho ... te/129408/
The AMT security problem can add more lawsuits to the number of Intel lawsuits. I think some users will sue Intel for selling them a defective CPU with AMT security problem which is can cause lost of data if a hacker stole or destroys important data by using the AMT security problem.

It would be bad for the government to bail them out, but then again they are so deeply rooted into tech society it would be bad for them to go bankrupt.
