Phone gets hot charging?
Just curios if anyone knows, but I recently replaced my phone battery and now when I charge it my entire phone gets hot, something that didn't happen with my old battery.

Maybe newer batteries have a thinner case, and battery parts which more easily heat up, so the battery is hotter to the touch. You could of gotten a defective battery or poorly made battery which heats up more.
Have you tried using a different charging cable, and USB charger to see if the temperatures are less hot. I think fast chargers make a phone's battery heat up more.

I noticed my cable gets hot as well, maybe it just takes charging faster?

Maybe a higher quality USB cable from another USB cable brand will make your phone less hot.

the battery did come with a cable of its own, I should try using that one instead of the default 1st party cable.

I agree trying the cable which came with the battery is a good idea. Maybe somehow the battery pulls more power, so it needs a cable which can handle more power.
I read online that some USB-C cables were breaking laptops, and smartphones because the USB-C cables were poorly made.

most likely due to people just buying cheap cables. Though the ends are rather small, I can see them busting.froggyboy604 wrote:I agree trying the cable which came with the battery is a good idea. Maybe somehow the battery pulls more power, so it needs a cable which can handle more power.
