I still some people post spam links on e-mail, and use YouTube for promoting their website.

I think many spammers may of moved to bigger websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube because there are more people on these sites.

I don't think those bigger sites even pay, unless they get donations from their viewers?

I think some members on big sites get money or stuff from websites when members advertise their links on their posts on bigger sites. They may get donations from viewers as well. But, some bad members may scam other members like selling stuff on a big site, and not delivering the stuff they are selling, and just taking the money.

I know a lot of people are making money form Patreon.

Some people are also making money from selling stuff with their website or brand name on it. Some people may rather wear a t-shirt with the name of their favorite website, online celebrity, video streamer, and are less interested in wearing a shirt from a better known clothing brand.

I do see a lot of people selling t-shirts, I would think it cost a lot to make them.

White T-shirts cost a few dollars at some stores, and ironing on a picture with a machine probably cost a few dollars.

But, the T-shirts maybe less comfortable than a more expensive T-shirt from a brand name.
