I really do miss tech that didn't need fans or cooling to run on.

There are some low powered computers like the Raspberry Pi which are fanless.

I never understood that since they really can't run anything powerful then.

The Raspberry Pi can run play older games like Quake 3, and a few older game console emulators, so they are good for people who need a fanless computer which cost $35 or less, and mainly use simple programs like Calculators, and some games like Quake 3.

possibly, I know someone in class at one time tried to make a very low end Raspberry Pi, I think it may have had a pentium in it.

I think there are cheaper fanless computers which people use for tasks like playing music and making routers.
I feel someday more people will use a Raspberry Pi and USB keyboard and transmitters to make their own universal remotes for TV, Stereos, DVR, settop boxes, cable boxes, surround sound systems, smart appliances, PC, Game consoles and DVD/Blu-Ray players if no companies make Universal remote control which work for many devices with one remote.

a lot of the techy IT people may do that, but I'm still seeing teenagers who barely know how to work their phones.
