Re: Warranties
I think installing a bigger size battery could help as well. Batteries have metal parts which can help cool the battery like how a CPU has a metal heatsink to cool the CPU when a fan blows air on the heatsink.

Re: Warranties
laptops are too small these days to install a bigger battery, and since they are all built in, they are a pain as well.

Re: Warranties
I wish there were more bigger laptops with bigger batteries which are removable.
I bet, laptop makers want to save a few dollars by using a slightly smaller thin plastic laptop case, and make their laptop more likely to break after a few years, so people will buy a new one, or pay a lot of money for repairs and replacement parts like the battery and motherboard which can cost a lot when owners send them back to the laptop maker for repairs.

Re: Warranties
only people I see wanting bigger laptops is the elderly, and only because they don't want a huge desktop setup.

Re: Warranties
A bigger heavier laptop could be better for using as a replacement for a desktop. It is harder for people or pets like a dog to trip over the charging cable, and pull the laptop off the table if the charging cable does not disconnect from the charging port.
I feel some elderly people may also collected a lot of old USB devces like a keyboard, mouse, trackball mouse, microphone, webcam, printer, etc, so having a bigger laptop with more USB ports can be useful.

Re: Warranties
That's another reason to get warranty, people's pets or kids trip on the power cord and I've seen so many destroyed power ports that it is sad.

Re: Warranties
It is annoying that the power port breaks so easily. I feel if the laptop maker spend a few extra dollars installing a better design higher quality power port, and cable the power port can be more durable from people tripping on them.
Maybe using an external USB battery power bank like those external battery chargers for smartphones to charge a laptop battery can be safer for the power port on a laptop, so people can't trip on them.
