most don't want to buy used and really want a good monitor to go with their gaming setups.

That is true. Buying used can have problems like the previous owner abusing their monitor, and damage from overheating, and some monitors are missing newer features.

not to mention a used monitor will fizzle out very quickly.

I think the better quality used monitors made by a better brand may work after a few years. Sometimes people sell their used monitors because they need money to pay for something else like a better 4K monitor.

Most I've seen wanting to upgrade is just for curve monitors.

Not that I'm aware of, but apparently makes viewing things better from a human eye perspective.
