Re: Recommended AV?
VirusTotal was bought by Google in 2012. I think Google never advertise much, and mostly computer workers and hobbyist who browse tech forums know about Virus Total.

Re: Recommended AV?
I think I learned about Virus Total from a tech forum I was visiting, and learned from a tech blog that Google bought Virus Total.
It is too bad that most TV news, newspapers, and newspapers rarely talk about online file virus scanner websites like Virus Total. I feel some users may prevent getting their computer infected by malware if they scanned the file or website link with Virus total.

Re: Recommended AV?
I feel the recent oil pipeline and large meat factory ransomware infections in the US may of reminded more people to do basic security tasks like use Windows Defender to run a quick scan or re-new their McAfee and trial ends after turning on their HP, Lenovo, etc Windows computer for the first time.

Re: Recommended AV?
Would be nice if AVs could stop actual hacking attempts instead of virus software.

Re: Recommended AV?
It would also be nice if AVs can include a list of trusted companies, workers, and local tech stores to remove viruses which AV failed to disinfect.
