Re: Recommended AV?
I haven't used Norton in a long time as well. I heard it makes computers slow as well.

Plus Norton seems to cost more than other AVs I've seen out there.

Re: Recommended AV?
I think a lot of people may mostly buy Norton because they are unaware of other brands, so Norton charges more for AV.

It is a pretty common name, you hardly see commercials for other brands.

Re: Recommended AV?
That is true, Norton is a common name. I think most antivirus and antimalware is unknown to most people except Norton and McAfee. Webroot maybe somewhat known to people who shop at retail electronic stores like Bestbuy.
I think Lavasoft Adaware, and Spybot was more popular as antispyware and anti-adware many years ago. Spybot does still to have many users, but Adaware is no longer as popular these days.

Re: Recommended AV?
Webroot's user interface does not look as good as other AV. I wonder how many people uninstall Webroot after getting it for free.
I think Trend Micro was also somewhat popular in the past.
