I never knew AV can verify payments.

Using land line telephones and fax machines could be better for taking orders during website and app downtimes since landline telephones and fax are more reliable than cell phones which sometimes have wireless reception, battery problems, and lag or random restarts.

I know AV can offer payment mode protection to make sure payment goes through alright without being seen.

There are some AV with a secure web browser which claims to be secure for doing tasks like online banking and shopping.

Not sure if I trust them all, I rather just use a VPN.

I trust Web browsers made by Antivirus more than Internet Explorer and some less popular web browsers. I think a lot of paid AV also come with VPN these days.

Most seem to do though I don't know how good the VPNs can be vs one that is just a dedicated vpn service.

The provided VPN from AV maybe good enough to protect computers which are connected to un-protected Wi-fi signals and websites without https.

I wonder is some of the Antivirus VPN are just re-branded VPN provided by a bigger VPN provider.
