AV may save money by using an offbrands many VPN servers since an AV would need to buy their own servers to make a VPN.

Could be that they split their own servers to make more use of what they already have, some servers can handle a lot and can be partitioned for more.

I heard Microsoft Edge browser would be coming with a VPN. I wonder if MS will be splitting their server for their VPN.

They are about to end their IE service, so I guess they have to enhance Edge somehow.

I think adding a VPN may convince some users to switch to Microsoft Edge instead of using IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc, or update to a newer version of Windows which can use the version of Edge which is based on the opensource Chromium web browser.

I know firefox already offers a VPN, I think chrome will soon if not already. I don't trust a constant VPN myself.
