Re: Recommended AV?
I think it would be a good idea to read the reviews for Windows App on blogs, forums, and other sites to see if there are users who complain of security and privacy problems with the app.

Re: Recommended AV?
I try to read reviews to make sure everything is good but sometimes not everything is reported.

Re: Recommended AV?
I think there are not many high quality reviews these days, so it can be difficult to find good reviews on programs to see if it is safe.

Re: Recommended AV?
It takes a lot of rep to make a believable review, which not many people have.

I think some reviewers maybe receiving money, free gifts, and insider information like future software release dates to write good reviews on software, so they will be less likely to write about software security and privacy concerns in the review.

I have been able to realize what is user made or sponsored to say good things, I tend to avoid the sponsored articles.

Re: Recommended AV?
I usually avoid sponsored reviews unless I just want to know about what features an antivirus have, or can't find another review.
I think software with many sponsor reviews maybe more likely to be safe from trojan viruses because I think trojan virus makers are unlikely to pay a lot of money to have their software reviewed, and risk getting reported to the police if the sponsor reviewer found out the software is actually a trojan virus.
