Re: Recommended AV?
I think it is not very common for an all-in-one system utility to corrupt itself unless the maker did not test an update before releasing a bad update which break the program. But, a virus can corrupt programs like all-in-ones and Windows. Hopefully, the all-in-one system utility come with software which prevent viruses from infecting it.

Anything can break with a bad update, Malwarebytes has proved this.

That is true, all software can break with a bad update. I think adding too many features to an antivirus can make it run slower on cheap computers which can barely run Windows, or have a cheap low quality CPU and case cooling fan where running more intensive programs can cause slowdown problems when the PC is overheating.

I have seen enough pcs shut down due to bad fans, AVs can really overheat them easily.

I think there is sometimes a setting to make an antivirus scan at a slower speed which may prevent overheating.

Most run at reduced speeds, others can be run faster at the expense of system resources.

I wonder if SSDs storage drive help with preventing overheating when running an antivirus on a PC with a bad fan. The SSD have no moving parts, and the scans should be done faster because of the faster file read speeds of most SSD drives.
