I think a lot of popular Vista compatible free antivirus may of slowed down Vista more because free antivirus have ads to tell you to upgrade to the paid version, or may bundle other free software which make Windows slower.

Vista may also be ahead of its time because it needed 1 GB of RAM to run more smoothly.

Vista was really ahead of its time of being heavy, I still remember needing to put more RAM into mine.

I feel Microsoft could of release Vista a few years latter when more people bought computers with 2GB of RAM, and a better CPU. I heard Vista did not run well on older laptops.

Leaving the OS in more development and letting tech become better would have been better, it did seem rush.

I felt Windows Vista would of done better if they mainly improve the security features, and made Vista as lightweight as Windows XP.

I agree, but I think they focused too much on visuals, I found a guide on how to scale all that back for better performance, which is sad.

I think Microsoft probably thought they get more buyers if they made Vista look better. I wonder if the visual effects in Vista made antivirus scans a lot slower.
