Even something simple can still be locked up and unusable.

That is true, I read online that sometimes clicking on a link or opening a text message can make some smartphones crash or be unusable.

Or get your information stolen and get spammed by text messages.

I feel text massaging may become less popular if too many people are always getting spammed or getting their smartphone bricked or broken after opening a text or clicking on a link in a text.

I disagree, most use text message 2FA for security, it will always be needed.

That is true, text messaging will still be popular for security reasons like 2FA or to verify a phone number to join a website.

I think more people may more likely use messaging Apps, E-mail, or Forum personal messaging if they have better spam and virus protection than text messaging.
