Or give a person access, sometimes just having their ip and knowing how to access the c drive can get you in.

Re: Recommended AV?
I read online that there are motherboards which contain firmware with code for installing software drivers from the internet which can use by cybercriminals to install viruses onto a computer while the computer is online.

Yep I've seen that, it's rather crazy that kind of thing can happen.

Re: Recommended AV?
Hopefully, there won't be many other computers which contain hardware with code which can be used to install malware if a cybercriminal can trick a device to install malware.
A good hardware firewall could help with preventing hacks from insecure motherboards with insecure code which cause computers to download malware without the user noticing.

Firmware could further break things if not careful and open things up to more viruses.

Re: Recommended AV?
I wonder if firmware will require its own antivirus which get automatic updates in the future.

Re: Recommended AV?
It's just changes to settings, so I don't think it can have viruses?
