I also don't trust subscriptions because companies can cancel your membership by mistake, or on purpose. The company can also overcharge people money.

I feel a lot of game and software companies may make more Linux software if Windows become a subscription.

Or if you forget to turn off the subscription, keep getting charged and be a pain to reverse chargers.

I think forgeting to renew a subscription can be a problem for some users espiecally if there is an internet outage, and there is no easy way to re-new your software license without the internet.

That can be a pain, you pretty much need a good internet to buy anything, even a decent pc.

I imagine some stores may sell software subscription for a higher price than the online prices where you may get a discount if you have a discount code for the software.

It's rare for any stores to do software sales without a catch, since they don't make much money from it.

I think some stores may try to sell technical support services, or sell other stuff with software. I think people used to have to buy a computer part to buy the OEM version of Windows XP.
