Hopefully, MS and Sony will not make all their consoles and devices online-only which could make their consoles and devices unusable if people's internet service provider is broken or their ISP decide to cancel user's ISP for some reason.

They are and continue to do so, they would never turn back at this point. We can only hope they disable it at the end of the console life.

I think they may reverse bad decisions of requiring the internet for simple tasks if people stop buying their consoles.

That would be nothing less than a miracle for something like that to happen.

I think the chances are slim that Sony and Microsoft require the need for the internet to do simple tasks unless there are many other big gaming company which makes powerful game consoles which does not always need the internet for simple tasks, and most people switch to the other console makers which don't need to be always online.

One nice thing about buying parts, if one company starts to become junk, another steps up to be better.

I'm glad there are two big CPU companies which are AMD and Intel, so people can buy a PC with an AMD or Intel CPU if they got poor custumer service trying to fix their CPU problem over the phone or in person.
