Waterproof costs a lot more and I'm sure most don't think it will happen, until it happens of course.

There are PC cases which protect computers from water, so external video card makers can make a case which protect a video card from water. But, the video card would need to be cooled by a very big heatsink on the outside of the case, and the owner may need to use a desk fan to blow cool air on the external video card.

I know good air flow is important, I make sure to keep my desktop on an elevated platform for that reason.

I keep my PC on a table to improve the airflow, and prevent my PC from getting very dusty from dust from the floor.

Unfortunately too may PCs come with lights, so it would bother me to keep mine at eye level.

I think there are dimmers which people can install on lights to make the lights on PCs less noticeable.

Most you can turn off, though it can be a pain to do so.
