Re: Learning IT
I think the official forums for software and operating systems like Ubuntu Linux can also be good places to learn basic skills on the software and operating system.

It would be a good place to ask questions and pick up on tricks that others would know.

Re: Learning IT
I think forums are good for learning because they are mostly moderated by humans, so they are less likely to automatically ban you for a weird reason.

I'm sure in the coming years, there will be forums moderated by AIs sadly.

Re: Learning IT
I think AI moderated forums may not be popular with small tech forums because a lot of small tech forums use free and cheaper slower web hosting to host their forum. Shared web hosting may load their forum more slowly after adding an AI moderator mod which may cause slowdown problems on shared web hosting servers with less RAM and a slower CPU.

I'm sure AI features will be a heavy cost and most low end and free sites like Jcink won't be able to run it.

Re: Learning IT
I think some people on slower connections like dial-up will prefer forums without auto-loading AI features because of slower load times,
