Re: Purchasing parts
I think not hiring enough safety workers to inspect the batteries would cause more battaries to accidentally catch on fire.

Re: Purchasing parts
Would be nice if they were shipped better, but batteries are always a dangerous thing.

Re: Purchasing parts
I think some batteries maybe catching on fire because some cheap batteries may not be designed to be drop or bent which can happen when it is installed on a laptop or smartphone with a thin or soft metal case like thin aluminum case or the device is made with cheap flexible plastic.

True, people are rather rough with their devices and even take them out in the rain unprotected.

Re: Purchasing parts
I think the sun shining on their devices can also cause heat damage which may cause problems for the battery as well.

Re: Purchasing parts
I've seen some examples of that, direct sunlight on devices for very long isn't a good thing.

Re: Purchasing parts
I wonder if laptops would need a built-in air conditioner to cool itself because the earth is getting hotter because of global warning.
I think devices like eReaders like the Amazon Kindle, and most non-smartphone cell phones like retro flip phones may not overheating when it is used direct sunlight is shining on them because they don't get very hot because their CPU, RAM, and video chip is usually very slow.
