Re: Purchasing parts
I'm concerned that a hacker can hack AI backup software to upload backup files to the internet, or use AI to infect backup files and folders with ransomware and malware.

Re: Purchasing parts
That's a terrifying thought, if AI does become infected, it would wreck everything.

Re: Purchasing parts
Maybe we should start making more offline tech which storage drive are set to read-only, so AI can't change the data like text, videos and pictures in the files to something else.
At least, most things like game consoles still have offline consoles like retro consoles which don't need the internet, so they can't be taken offline by bad AI programs.

I agree, more offline backups like LTO tapes will become more vital to ensure data isn't access or changed.

Re: Purchasing parts
For things like non-digital only game consoles with a disc drive or a mini console like the Nintendo Snes Mini, users don't need to worry about companies disabling their user account, or removing less popular games or more mature games which offended too many people, so the game publisher changed the story or unpublish the digital game in certain countries.

True, game consoles in the old days had no fear of such shut downs and disables.

I heard eBooks sometimes can get remove from people's online library without the buyer's permission.
