I think unions can help with pay raises for workers who have more skills instead of being underpaid while having more skills.

Pay rises always come with a up hill fight that might require going on strike and letting skills get rusty.

That is true going on strike for too long can cause people skills to get rusty unless they use their skills during their strike.

I imagine a lot of hackers may try to hack servers when the IT staff is on strike.
