I think most people just upload their videos to popular video sharing sites which pay creators a noticeable amount of money like $1 for every few hundred to thousand views because making videos can be expensive if you buy a decent camera and paid video editing software.
Most people probably want to earn back some money to get back some of their money they spent on their video camera, and paid video editing software.

True, anyone is looking for easy money and uploading a quick video would do it.

I think sites like Patreon, and other pledging sites may cause many people to spend most of their time uploading video rather than uploading animated gifs, and text articles on computer trouble shooting and repair. It can be very difficult to earn money, or get readers with articles because of the thousands to millions of writers who write about the same topic.
Some of the people who make computer tutorials may need money to buy paid versions of software which can be expensive, so they may more likely to make a video to upload to video sites which pay video creators, so they can eventually afford to buy paid software and services to test out.

True, but it's bad to upload on a paid site, as most won't be able to access the content and may vanish after a while.
