Amazon, Bestbuy and many places let you send giftcard codes/digital giftcards by e-mail to the senders e-mail, so shipping is free via e-mail.
Buying a giftcard at Bestbuy, Radioshack, or other stores has no shipping, and the person you are giving the card to can go into a store, and buy something with the card.
Plus, with Swagbucks, and similar sites, you can do surveys, polls, search the web, and get gift card codes for free in exchange for being on their site and doing stuff, so you can spend zero money on gift codes to give to people.
