SONY and DELL had a meeting ten months ago about flaws in the Lithium-Ion batteries which lead to their recall last week.
Both company knew that small metal particles had contaminated Lithium-Ion battery cells made by Sony, causing batteries to fail or overheat.
They decided to hold off a recall until those flaws were clearly linked to "catastrophic failures".
Sony changed its manufacturing process to minimise the presence and size of the particles in its batteries.

Seems kind of irresponsible of Dell and Sony since someone house could've burnt down and it might of prevented some explosions and fires from taking place caused by Dell laptops that used sony batteries.
Dell and Sony knew about battery flaws months ago.
