Microsoft Skydrive free space boosted to 1GB

Google better get cracking with GDrive, or else

By Martin Veitch: Friday, 12 October 2007, 10:05 AM

GOOGLE SEEMS everywhere on the web at the moment but one area where it might be falling behind is in online storage, and its old friends and Microsoft are the ones that stand to benefit.

Microsoft’s Windows Live SkyDrive beta has been gathering interest ever since it first appeared as a free download and the latest development is that Microsoft has doubled storage capacity to 1GB and added some nice-sounding new features.

These comprise:

First, the addition of RSS feeds to public folders so that when files are added, your significant others (or the great unwashed general public if that's what you've chosen) can be notified.

Second, the ability to add email addresses of those people direct from SkyDrive, rather than having to shell out to Hotmail or Windows Messenger.

Third, the chance to add the name of the person who added the file.

You can get more details here.

There are some quibbles, most notably international availability and deep integration with other Microsoft programs, but Google had better get cracking with its forever-rumoured GDrive free space or cede a little bit of web-country to Microsoft and others. µ

Microsoft has released a free update for the Microsoft One Note 2010 that is selective for the work area adaptation of the device. A gigantic measure of development and research has gone into making this refresh. It was done after clients reliably requested certain components to be added to the instrument. This free refresh is gone for enhancing the joining highlights of Sky Drive. Utilizing the match up status interface to track and oversee journals on SharePoint and Sky Drive has now turned out to be more helpful. Sky Drive is a free instrument that encourages you oversee reports and photographs on the web. SharePoint is the product that causes you in the substance administration framework (CMS), seeking and sharing of sites and streamlining business knowledge. The refresh is intended to improve the substance administration highlight of Sky Drive. It makes it to a great degree simple for you to get to your substance in the cloud where more than 200 million Microsoft Office records are now transferred. Microsoft has included another element called 'Open from the Web' to the Sky Drive with this update.

^you really dug up a old article.

But things have changed since this, as in a lot more online storage and a lot of people who don't care for it.

Indeed, there are a lot more online storage, and many people not caring about online storage.

Attaching a file like a text or image file to a website post like a blog and forum post is not hard to do with most CMS like WordPress and Forum software like phpBB3.

A lot of people these days upload their photos, and videos to social networks like Instagram, DeviantArt, YouTube, so they can be famous online, and make money from ads or promoting people's stuff in their photo or video.

Using your own web hosting plan, iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon to sell or giveaway your eBook or files can be a good way to make money or share your ebook with people.

I agree it is dirt cheap to get a hosting account. If you subscribe to a reseller web hosting account, you can re-sell unused space on your hosting account.

I think some web design companies sell web hosting from their reseller web hosting account which they subscribe from a big web host to for hosting their own websites, and customers websites where local customers may not want to subscribe to a web host like GoDaddy or Namecheap, and trust their local web design company more because they can talk to a web host technician at a physical office at their local web design company.
