What do you think of post exchanges for forums and blogs?

A post exchange is when a person from another forum or blog posts on your forum, and you post an equal amount of posts they posted on their forum or blog.

I think post exchanges are a good way to promote a forum or a blog since I am introducing new people to my forum. If they like my forum, they stay. If they don't like my forum, they still have to post on my forum if they are honest.

Plus, I usually post links back to mxp on their forum and they can post links to their forum on the promotional sections.

They're great so long as the person doing it doesn't let on that it's a post exchange. If they do, major =/.

I think it is a good idea to increase traffic to the person forum.

providing they don't excessively post there link, and remain semi active if you do in return on there forum

well i'm here on a post exchange and i think it works effectively in getting members/posts.

I think they're good opportunities. You never know if the person will end up staying and actually getting into your forum. Then, it's hardly like an exchange. Both parties turn into formal members over time.

Yes, and a lot of those members give useful feedback on how to improve your forum.
