Now we all remember Paris Hilton going to jail for 45 days because of a DUI charge. She has had a few more in the past and nothing has been done. She claims that the cops always pull her over to hit on her and she thinks it's unfair of the charge given to her. It doesn't seem fair that celebrities could think they could get away with things that would put us regular people in jail for months or years. If we had past DUI's, we would've already been jailed or whatever but she continues to walk free. Or how about when Britney Spears hit that car and just took off. It seems that celebrities can get away with just about anything. I'm sure there's a lot more situations than those two but what do you think of it?

I agree Celebrity get away with a lot of stuff, but they can hire many expensive lawyers to defend them in court while the average person can't afford a lawyer or a lawyer that is as good. Plus, the jury, judge are star struck, so they feel their favourite celebrity won't survive in jail as long as regular folks.

A lot of people agreed that the judge on Paris's trial was trying to make an example out of her, and made the judgement more strict.

However, star power does have its uses.

Celebrities are not fair. Although we can talk shit about them, bu they dont know us, therefore they cant talk shit about us ._.

Not to mention, the judges also have their lives to fear because of crazed fans..

I think that celebrities should get the same amount of jail time as the average joe.. it is only fair.. besides, without the average joe, they wouldn't be where they are today.

If we did half the things celebrities did, and got away with, our butts would be in jail for the rest of our lives.. so why should they get special treatment.. perhaps some real time behind bars would make them realize that regardless of how famous you are, you still have to obey the law.

Some people will also be afraid of the celebrities friends like some people wouldn't want to anger a rapper with connections to gangs.
