No Wii 2 on the way anytime soon.

Post by Skeithex »

Everybody's favorite meat ambassador, Reggie Fils-Aime, has spoken about the future of the Nintendo Wii in an interview with Reuters, quelling rumors that Nintendo is already whipping up a console to take the Wii's place on the throne:
We believe the role of a new console, a new system, is to bring great new entertainment ideas to life. We launched (the Wii and DS) those systems when we had great ideas that would benefit either from a touch screen or from a Wii remote.
Fils-Aime went on to say that Nintendo would consider the launch of a new console when they had "great new entertaining ideas that can only be done with a new console." Of course, anyone with a half a brain about the way the industry works can guess that something stinks here; any successful organization is always planning towards the future.

I bet the console that replace the Wii is already in the works. I bet the next wii will use Blu-ray Disks since they can hold more Information.

it might since the PS3 worked out all the flaws but that will make the Wii cost more.

True, or Nintendo can reduce the price, and earn back the money from game, and accessory sales. I heard that Console company usually loss money for every console they sell, but earn it back through game sales and accessories.

Blu-ray drives are falling in prices, by 2010 (next gen consoles expected time) blu ray should be ALOT cheaper

While may push up the average console by 30-60 quid you can expect that at least 2 of the big three will offer a blu ray version

though the recall tech is something that should be on the horizon more by then so expect to see that nearer 2012-2014
I never really understood Thursdays.

Yes, I think Nintendo is earning money from the Wii as well since they sell so many games and accesories. Plus, I think the wii is cheaper to build then a 360 and PS3.
