Halo 3 Name Changed

Bungie's upcoming Halo project, announced as Halo 3: Recon has undergone an official name change. Now the title will be known as Halo 3: ODST. The ODST acronym stands for "Orbital Drop Shock Troopers." These elite soldiers will be the focus on the upcoming game and the tale will be told from their perspective rather than Master Chief's.

What's the reason for the name change? We contacted Microsoft and a representative told IGN, "We decided that "Halo 3: ODST" was a better name for this title as we look to build out this new character and the story behind the title."

The new name is hard to remember, and sounds weird to me.

i think it's a slight improvement, titles with "recon" in there names are a dime a dozen,

the acronym deal is "in" and (H3)ODST is easier than H3:Recon not just in typing

I have to agree with you that the name is better.
