If the price for Windows 7 is reasonable, is compatible with older hardware, software, and noticeably faster then XP Pro.

I like that Windows XP only have 4 versions Home, Pro, Media Centre, and 64bit.
Linux distro only have 2 for some distro "Desktop and Server"
I don't get why Windows release so many versions of their products like MS Office there is Student, Regular, and Pro.
