I think because the music videos for American artists is almost like making a small Hollywood film in many cases because American Record labels can afford to make a music video with special effects, hire the best directors, and costume makers in the world.
Plus, many American music company can afford to hire a small army of promotional staff, street team, and pay for TV, internet, and newspaper ads, so it is almost impossible to not know who Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, The Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, or Katy Perry are unless you don't read the newspaper, watch the news, use the internet, or listen to the radio.
Why are American Artists like Lady Gaga, Elvis, Miley Cyrus, etc are so popular in Asian Countries and the world?

I wish Asian Music is more popular in Canada, so I can buy it at most Canadian music stores.
I know that I prefer many American songs compared to Canadian music since there is not much Canadian music I am interested in or the Canadian music I might like is poorly promoted, so I don't even know it exists unless I find their website randomly.
I wonder if people in Asia listen to American Music as a way to rebel against their own strict conservative Asian culture by listening to American music with rebellious themes like Punk Rock, Rock and Roll, Rap, and Hip hop since I find Asian music in general is more mild and censored when I read the translations online compared to American music since I feel a lot of Asian Countries like North Korea, China, Singapore, Vietnam, etc tend to be very strict and don't accept people saying the F, C, N, and D words.
I won't say what F, C, N, D words are since most people can easily find out what they are by going on google and this is a family friendly forum.
