What are the similarities and differences between forums and social networks?

Post by froggyboy604 »

Forums are more about many people replying to the same topic, and every member being able to reply to the same topic. Social networks are more restrictive because you need to add someone to your friend list and they accept before both of you can reply to each others status updates.

Forums are more about sharing information about big topics like "The Weather" while social networks are more about status updates about someone's life and sharing photos and videos related to what they like.

social networks, you have little control if your being stalked or harassed. On a forum, such things can be taken care of quickly.

Indeed, Social networks are becoming so big that there are not enough staff to stop trolling and stalking by banning stalkers and trolls.
