Yes, since it is usually easier to find the song you are looking for on YouTube, and there are plenty of software, browser plug-ins, and websites which can convert video to MP3 files to listen on the computer.

I say it's pretty popular, I use it to get music that doesn't get turn into a MP3.

this video for example:

no way you find that on a online store in mp3 format.

Indeed, it is very hard to find or hard or impossible to find custom songs from iTunes, and other online download stores.

It is also impossible to find cover songs of our favourite songs sung by the singers' fans on iTunes since singing and selling cover songs of other people song is against the "Terms of service" for selling songs online since it can be seen as copyright infringement.

The only way to get a copy of the song is to rip it from YouTube in many cases.

and that's why ripping songs will always be popular. Maybe if youtube sold MP3 versions of a video it could take care of the problem. But it have to be cheap.

Yes, but It is sort of a hassle to log into PayPal just to buy one MP3 of the video when people can rip the song from the video in a few seconds or minutes.

I think a subscription service would work better where people pay 5 dollars a month, and have the option to download music from their favorite singers for the month or year they pay for the download service.
