Kinect Add-On Widens Play Area

The Microsoft Kinect is a ground-breaking device, there's no doubt about that, but an issue that plagued many of its users was the space required to adequately utilize the motion-sensing camera. Aware of the problem, Nyko has introduced the Zoom, the first useful accessory for the Kinect.

The Nyko Zoom is a snap-on attachment that adjusts the viewing angle of the Kinect, decreasing the required distance needed to play by up to 40%. No batteries are required and you can use the Zoom on any Kinect title and supports both single and multiplayer games.

The Zoom for Kinect will be available on August 16 for $29.99

Indeed, this should be out when Kinect was out. But, I wonder if the decrease in play area will make gaming on the Kinect more dangerous when playing Two player games since they need a lot of space to move the user hands and legs.
