Extract Recovery Partition

I was wondering if its possible to extract a recovery partition from a computer to a usb? The partition that holds the OS files so you could reinstall the os if needed.

Sometimes you can make a recovery disc with a program in Windows.

I think it is different for every computer brand. You can usually find the recovery disc program in your startmenu or desktop shortcuts. I know HP has a Recovery disc creator called Recovery Disc Creation or Recovery Media Creation which let you use USB and Discs to create the recovery disc or USB drive.

You can also use a program like Clonezilla to clone your recovery partition, and other drive partitions to a USB external hard drive, or File Server.

ahhh I see, I'll looking into what ASUS has. I rather not lose Windows 7 till MS gets their act together with W10.

If your school or work place has a Microsoft software subscription, you can sometimes download an ISO Disc Image of Windows 7 for free.

The official Windows 7 ISO from Microsoft comes with less bundled software except for Internet Explorer and bloatware which the computer makers pre-installed on Windows 7 PCs before selling them to buyers.
