IT managers glue up usb ports.

Post by froggyboy604 »

IT managers are using super glue to glue up usb ports making them unuseable to protect against corporate data theft from downloading from external HD " thumb drive, and anything with memory."

I wonder if they glue up the keyboard and mouse usb ports, too if they didnt, couldnt some regular guy just remove the usb keyboard and replace it with a usb thumb drive, and use the usb mouse on the second port to drag it on there. Better yet, connect a usb hub to the keyboard's usb port, so he can use the keyboad, mouse, and thumb drive all at the same time.

If the comp have a ethernet. wifi, firewire port couldnt the intruder just creat a simple two comp network with a laptop or pocket pc to steal files.

plus, some of new pc have blue tooth or wireless networking capabilities, so the intruder might use his blue tooth cell phone, palm, pocket pc to steal files by downloading files to the phone.

^they just use the computer's hard drive to read it. They just use the super glue, so all usb hard drive people bring into the building can't take files from a computer, and out of a building with lots of confidential files like an accountant's desktop PC sort of like when those greeters at a store tape up your shopping bags from another store, so u cant hide stuff in your bag to steal.

They should just buy comps without usb ports.
